PING is the most common utility to detect downtime on servers. It works on virtually all operating systems that have networking capability, including most embedded network administration software. This means that you can ping not just computers, but also routers, switches and other network devices. This makes ping so versatile and useful, specially for network administrators.
Ping monitoring is really easy on uptinio. Lets go to it.

Create a new Monitor

For this test we will ping the famous Google DNS server 8.8.8.8

To receive alerts choose any integration you want to send alerts to, in this case I’ll choose our slack integration and my email.

And that is it, as you can see it is really easy to quickly monitor devices using Ping!.
